Gaza Strip
The State of Qatar has announced its unequivocal rejection of the attempts of forced evacuation of the brotherly Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip and called for lifting the siege of the Strip and providing full protection for civilians according to international law and international humanitarian law.
In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned of the danger of taking the policy of collective punishment, including calls for evacuating North Gaza Strip from the population, indicating that compelling civilians to displacement or seek refuge in the neighboring countries represents a violation of international laws that would consequently aggravate the impacts of the ongoing confrontations in the occupied Palestinian territories and compound the suffering of Palestinian people.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to urgently act to open humanitarian corridors that allow international organizations to deliver medical and food assistance to Gaza and evacuate the injured civilians.
The ministry emphasized that the only guarantee to achieve sustainable peace in the region is to attain a just and comprehensive solution for the Palestinian cause by ensuring the restoration of rights to the Palestinian people, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
