Qatar Airways to Launch Complimentary Onboard Wi-Fi with Starlink

Qatar Airways is the First Leading Airline in MENA to Introduce Complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi Onboard

Qatar Airways has announced via its X account that it is the first major airline in the MENA region to partner with SpaceX and Starlink to introduce new Wi-Fi advancements. This groundbreaking, complimentary service aims to enhance passengers' onboard experience with limitless entertainment and information options.

The initial rollout will see three Boeing 777-300s in Qatar Airways' fleet equipped with Starlink's ultra-high-speed, low-latency Wi-Fi by the last quarter of this year. Qatar Airways Group CEO, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, commented, "This exciting collaboration with Starlink demonstrates our commitment to a customer-first approach and our dedication to elevating our passengers' experience. We continue to innovate to meet and exceed expectations throughout their journey with Qatar Airways."

Passengers will enjoy free, ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi offering up to 500 Megabits per second per plane, enabling them to stream entertainment and sports videos, engage in online gaming, browse the web, and more. This initiative is the start of a comprehensive rollout plan that will extend to the entire modern Qatar Airways fleet over the next two years.
