Prime Minister receives phone call from Iranian Foreign Minister

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al- Thani held a phone conversation with the Iranian Foreign Minister HE Abbas Araghchi on the latest developments in light of recent military escalation between the US and Iran. 

In the call, the Qatari Prime Minister condemned attacks on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz and said these actions will undermine international maritime security, limit regional confidence-building efforts, and threaten ongoing endeavors to de-escalate tensions. He also renewed calls for dialogue and diplomacy to maintain peace in the region, calling for "the implementation of the agreed memorandum of understanding".
