Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Meets Foreign Minister of China

Beijing, September 08, 2026 : HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani met on Tuesday with HE Wang Yi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, in Beijing.

Bilateral Cooperation, Regional Security Discussed

The meeting addressed cooperation relations between Qatar and China and ways to support and strengthen them across various sectors. Discussions also covered the latest regional developments and diplomatic efforts to reduce escalation and enhance security and stability in the region, underscoring the necessity of ensuring the security and freedom of international navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

Qatar Reaffirms Support for Diplomatic Solutions

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed during the meeting the State of Qatar's full support for diplomatic efforts to reach a solution that guarantees freedom of maritime navigation and paves the way for a comprehensive agreement to achieve sustainable peace in the region.
