People blasted the woman for being ‘incredibly rude’
A photo of a plane passenger with her long hair hanging over the back of her seat has gone viral with some branding it ‘completely inconsiderate & unnecessary’.
Anthony, from the US, tweeted the picture and asked his followers: ‘Would this p**s you off?’.
Thousands of people replied with most of them agreeing it was ‘presumptuous’ and ‘incredibly rude’.
Many people joked how they would angrily respond, with getting hold of a pair of scissors featuring as a very common idea.
One woman, from Ireland, said: ‘Immediate call to the flight attendant so they can explain to the person exactly what portion of the plane their ticket purchased. It did not pay for my tray table.’
Another woman commented: ‘I would quietly lower the tray, let her hair fall in and then close it up again. Yes. It would piss me off and I’d tell her to keep it in her seat. If she gets pissy, offer to cut it.’
Henry Modglin answered: ‘Yep. Put seat tray down. Let hair get stuck. Then put seat tray up. Hopefully hair rips out when they stand up. Do this only after you politely ask them to move hair and they refuse.’

I would politely ask her to stay in the space that she paid for and keep her hair out of the space I’m eating and drinking in. If that didn’t work I’d be very tempted to get the messiest food and drink on the trolley and accidentally dip her hair in it.

It is unclear what airline the woman was on or where the plane was headed.
Many people used the opportunity to rant about other types of ‘rude behaviour’ on a plane.
Several users had photographs from previous trips where passengers behind them had put a foot on their armrest.
Others complained about people in front of them reclining their seats all the way back.
Although most were in the ‘cut the long hair’ club, others did not understand why it would be a problem.
One army veteran from Washington DC, said he would not let it ruin his day.
He wrote: ‘Lol nah. If I need the tray I’d just let her know I need to get under her hair for a sec. but why would I get mad? Flight over soon, on my merry way.’
Another said he found it ‘weird’ how many people were getting upset by the long hair.
