Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Excellency Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, arrived in Doha on Monday as part of an official visit to convey his condolences following the passing of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
Upon his arrival at Hamad International Airport, the Pakistani Prime Minister was received by His Excellency Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, along with His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Aamer, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the State of Qatar.
The visit is part of a series of condolence calls being paid by heads of state, government officials, and dignitaries from across the world, who have travelled to Doha to express their sympathies to the Qatari leadership and people following the loss of the Father Amir. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani was widely regarded for his transformative leadership, having steered Qatar through decades of significant political, economic, and diplomatic development that reinforced the country's role on the global stage.
Prime Minister Sharif's presence in Doha also reflects the longstanding and close relationship between Pakistan and Qatar, ties that span political cooperation, economic partnership, and cultural exchange. The visit is expected to include formal condolence proceedings in line with the protocol being observed throughout the national mourning period.
Since the announcement of the Father Amir's passing, Qatar has received a continuous stream of foreign dignitaries and delegations, reflecting the extensive diplomatic relationships built during his rule and the widespread international respect he commanded.
