Ooredoo Qatar Tackles the Reasons Behind Local Connectivity Issues
Ooredoo Qatar has issued a statement addressing the recent disruptions to mobile phone connectivity. The telecommunications company explained that the outage occurred because an Ashghal contractor accidentally damaged one of its mainlines during public works.Â
Ooredoo assured that it will collaborate with the state Communications Regulatory Authority and Ashghal to prevent such incidents in the future. The company also emphasized its commitment to safeguarding its network infrastructure.
Ashghal, the Public Works Authority of Qatar, has not yet commented on the situation.
This statement follows Ooredoo's earlier apology on Friday, where the company acknowledged that some customers faced difficulties with its mobile phone network. Social media users reported issues ranging from non-functional 5G to problems using the Ooredoo mobile app. Some customers have called for compensation, while others suggested switching to rival telecommunication providers.
