The Sultanate of Oman today expressed its condemnation of the insulting remarks made about Prophet Mohammed Peace be Upon Him (PBUH), Islam and Muslims by an official in the Bharatiya Janata Party.
This came during Foreign Ministrys Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin lssa Al Harthy's meeting with Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman Amit Narang.
Al Harthy reiterated Omans rejection of insulting all religious symbols. He pointed out that such comments and incidents do not serve peaceful coexistence among people of different religions and only causes public outrage.
He also expressed Omans welcome of the statement issued by the ruling party in India which announced the suspension of the official who made the insulting remarks. Al Harthy reaffirmed Omans commitment to the culture of tolerance, coexistence, resisting hatred and respecting all faiths and religions.
