OIC Warns Against Israeli Measures Aimed at Annexing Palestinian Territory

Call for UN Security Council Action

The OIC renewed its appeal to the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to assume its responsibilities and take measures aimed at compelling Israel to halt policies and practices involving settlement expansion, annexation, blockade and forcible displacement.

The organisation also called for compliance with international law, relevant resolutions of international legitimacy and the Charter of the United Nations.

OIC Calls for Accountability

The General Secretariat called for international justice mechanisms to be activated to ensure accountability and legal prosecution for perpetrators of crimes in the Occupied Palestinian Territory in accordance with international criminal law.

Separate Warning Over West Bank Settler Violence

The statement came amid a separate OIC warning over escalating settler violence in the occupied West Bank, including the siege and attacks reported in Qusra, south of Nablus. The organisation said such incidents formed part of a wider pattern involving settlement expansion, annexation and attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians.
