British writer Nicholas Evans, best known for his novel "The Horse Whisperer" which previously topped the bestseller list and was adapted into a movie with the same title, died at the age of 72 as a result of a heart attack.
The Horse Whisperer novel was a great success, selling 15 million copies worldwide, dealing with the story of a girl who is seriously injured by a horse riding accident in which her best friend is killed and her horse is mutilated.
In 1998, a movie of the same novel was directed, the film included actresses Scarlett Johansson and Kristin Scott Thomas, and the movie was nominated for Oscars.
