MOL Wraps Up Three-Month Heat-Stress Safety Campaign

Doha, September 16, 2026 : The Ministry of Labour (MOL), represented by the Occupational Safety and Health Department, has concluded its three-month 2026 awareness and inspection campaign on the risks of heat stress.

Campaign Aligned with National Vision 2030 Goals

According to a statement by MOL, the campaign formed part of its ongoing efforts to enhance occupational safety and health standards and protect workers from risks associated with working in hot weather, in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Ministry's strategic goal of providing a safe and sustainable working environment.

Wide-Ranging Awareness, Inspection Efforts Carried Out

Throughout the campaign, MOL intensified its awareness and inspection efforts, targeting workers, employers, and various relevant groups at workplaces, in partnership with several government and private-sector entities, foremost among them the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) and the Workers' Support and Insurance Fund, alongside private-sector institutions and companies — contributing to delivering awareness messages to a broad segment of beneficiaries and enhancing compliance with preventive measures.

Seminars, Field Inspections Formed Core of Campaign

The campaign featured an integrated program of activities, including seminars, workshops, and educational lectures, alongside intensified field inspection visits to monitor compliance with occupational safety and health requirements and approved preventive measures during the summer period. MOL said these efforts helped strengthen worker safety and reduce risks arising from exposure to high temperatures.

Strong Engagement from Employers and Workers

The campaign saw positive engagement and a broad response from employers and workers to MOL's guidance and requirements, contributing to increased awareness of preventive measures and stronger compliance with occupational safety and health requirements — including the regulation of working hours and rest periods, provision of drinking water and suitable rest areas, and implementation of precautionary measures during periods of high temperature and humidity.

Concluding Seminars Held on Heat Stress Risks

Coinciding with the campaign's concluding activities, the department organized a series of awareness seminars on the risks of heat stress. The seminars featured lectures addressing the health risks of direct exposure to high temperatures, prevention methods, and measures to ensure worker safety in hot weather, delivered with the participation of specialists alongside representatives from MOPH's Health Promotion Department and the Fund.

Ministry Reaffirms Commitment to Worker Safety

Through these initiatives, MOL said it continues to strengthen the occupational safety and health system across workplaces, supporting Qatar National Vision 2030's goal of building a society where members enjoy health and safety.

At the conclusion of the campaign, the Ministry expressed appreciation for the cooperation shown by public and private sector institutions, strategic partners, employers, and workers in supporting awareness efforts and compliance with approved requirements. It affirmed that the positive results achieved reflect growing awareness of occupational safety and health, reinforcing a culture of prevention in the workplace.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to continuing specialized programs and initiatives that protect the workforce and improve quality of working life, supporting national efforts to build a safer, more sustainable, and productive labor market.
