Balloon tires
The Ministry of Interior is urging motorists to exercise caution when using balloon tires on their vehicles, emphasizing that the improper use of this material can result in accidents. This advisory follows the Ministry's release of a video on social media depicting a car accident attributed to the use of balloon tires on paved roads.
The Ministry highlighted the slippery nature of balloon tires, their tendency to explode, and their susceptibility to wear and stretching, especially under high temperatures or when driven at speeds exceeding 100 km/h. The accompanying video illustrates a vehicle losing control and overturning after moving at a certain speed.
Emphasizing that balloon tires are designed exclusively for sandy terrains, the Ministry emphasized their unsuitability for paved roads and high-speed driving.
