Ministry announces Kingfish fishing ban using fixed gillnets from 15 August to 31 October 2026

• The fishing ban will be in effect from 15 August to 31 October 2026.

Regulations During the Ban

The Ministry has outlined the following rules:

• Fishing for kingfish using fixed gillnets is prohibited.

• Trading and transporting kingfish fishing nets are prohibited.

• Fishing for kingfish is allowed only using hand lines.
