Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani crowned winners
HE Minister of Sports and Youth Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani crowned winners of the eighth and ninth horse races organized by the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Saturday at Al Uqda Equestrian Complex, , which included nine races.
The ninth race, which was contested for the Founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Trophy for locally bred Purebred Arabian horses, aged 3 years and older, over 1400 meters, was claimed by the horse owned by Khalid Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al Attiyah with a remarkable return to victory with a commanding performance, under trainer Jassim Hamad Al Attiyah.
The second-place finisher in the race was the horse owned by Al Shaqab Racing, and trained by Jean de Muel, and ridden by jockey Christophe Soumillon. Additionally, securing third place was the horse owned by Al Jaryan Stud, under the trainer Mohammed Hamad Khalifa Al Attiyah and with jockey Stepan Mazur in the saddle.
The eighth race, contested for the National Day Trophy for Purebred Arabian Horses (Group 2), for horses aged 4 years and older, over 2100 meters, was snagged by the horse trained by Alban de Muel, and ridden by jockey James Doyle.
The second-place position was secured by the horse owned by Khalifa bin Shaiel bin Khalifa Al Kuwari, trained by Julian Smart, and ridden by jockey Gavin Matthew Ryan. The third-place finisher was the horse owned by Mansour bin Khalil bin Mansour Al Shehwan, trained by Hamad Al Jehani, and ridden by jockey Stepan Mazur.
