Minister of Public Health honored Winners of HMCs
HE Minister of Public Health and Managing-Director of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari honored the winners of the HMC's 11th annual Stars of Excellence Awards 2024, at a ceremony held at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort and Convention Hotel on Sunday.
The winning projects received a total of 28 awards within three main categories Health, Education, and Research, including the Managing Director's Award, the Star of Excellence Award, the Rising Star Award, and two Awards of Merit.
HE Al Kuwari said that the HMC has seen a top-notch service transformation and development since the Stars of Excellence program was incepted in 2010, in line with the HMC's commitment to the Qatar National Vision 2030 and its health strategies that offer patient-centered care and build a physically and psychologically healthy society.
This year's nominations included many projects related to the Covid-19 pandemic and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Her Excellency added that healthcare teams have worked with dedication and great effort to support the State of Qatar's strategies to deal with this its national priorities over the past three years, thanks to the healthcare cadres in collaboration with various government agencies.
The State of Qatar managed to devise a sweeping strategy to battle covid-19 and host a safe, healthy and very successful World Cup, and other major events, Her Excellency added, appreciating the specialized health care teams' multi-area tremendous progress to improve top-notch medical services despite the huge pressures.
CEO of the HMC's Center for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement (CPESE), Nasser Al Nuaimi said that the Stars of Excellence 2024 program received a record high standard project nominations, highlighting a large number of other projects that deserve appreciation and praise other than those shortlisted.
Al Nuaimi extended his thanks and appreciation to all contributors to this year's 700 projects, hailing thousands of HMC employees who streamlined the national corporation's recent remarkable development.
The 'Novel Clinical Practices for COVID-19 Critical Care Management' received this year's Managing-Director's Award and the Stars of Excellence Award in the Health category. The project focused on modifications to clinical practices to contribute to reducing the covid-19-related death rate.
