Minister Al Mannai: Collaboration with Research Institutions for AI Development
Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H E Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, emphasized the Ministry's cooperation with research institutions, including Hamad Bin Khalifa University, to study the impacts of artificial intelligence advancements. Speaking at the Shura Council's weekly meeting, he highlighted efforts towards developing an advanced regulatory framework for AI to address ethical and legal challenges.
The Ministry is also focused on digitizing government services to enhance accessibility and user experience, streamlining processes, and improving integration across applications. Additionally, collaboration with security bodies aims to combat electronic crimes and enhance security measures, particularly on an international scale.
Al Mannai stressed integrating technology into education, offering programs to develop young people's digital skills and awareness of online safety. The digital strategy prioritizes economic and social benefits for citizens, with support provided to groups facing challenges in adapting to technical advancements.
At the Shura Council meeting, discussions revolved around the Ministry's strategic plans for digital transformation and achievements in e-government services. Members commended efforts to advance the communication and IT sector in line with Qatar's development goals.
The Council also addressed concerns about the negative impacts of technology, proposing measures to mitigate risks and promote responsible utilization. Minister Al Mannai outlined the Ministry's objectives, aiming to enhance government services, transparency, and community engagement through digital initiatives.
