Sheikha Mayassa with Indian Vice President

"The Indian community makes up a very important social fabric of our country — and the remarks of two officials doesn’t represent their opinion. This morning the Indian ambassador re-assured me that the Indian government doesn’t support these comments," Sheikha Mayassa wrote.
Sheikha Mayassa said this on the sidelines of a tour with the Indian Vice President at the National Museum of Qatar who was shown the museum collections that have connections to India. Â
She added that the planned visit of the Indian Vice President to Qatar came before the recent remarks made by now suspended or expelled BJP leaders Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal.
