The Indian Business and Professionals Council Qatar hosted the India Qatar Virtual Energy Conference 2026. The event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, technology providers, manufacturers, and service companies from India, Qatar, and global markets.

H E Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar, inaugurated the conference. He highlighted the growing relationship between both countries. He noted that the partnership now extends beyond trade and includes energy, infrastructure, technology, manufacturing, and industrial development.

Thaha Muhammed Abdul Kareem, President of IBPC Qatar, delivered the opening remarks. He stressed the need to convert the strategic partnership into real opportunities for entrepreneurs, professionals, investors, and companies.
He said stronger business cooperation can support long-term economic growth and create new industrial partnerships.
Qatar Energy Expansion Creates New Business Prospects
Nasser Jeham Al Kuwari, Chairman of COREINFO and former CEO of Q-Chem and QAFAC, presented the keynote address. He shared insights into Qatar's energy transformation and industrial development plans.
He said Qatar plans to increase liquefied natural gas production capacity from 77 million tonnes annually to 142 million tonnes by 2030. This expansion will generate opportunities in engineering, manufacturing, industrial services, downstream industries, and technology solutions.
The ambitious growth strategy is expected to attract suppliers, contractors, and technology companies from around the world.
Qatar Energy Sector Offers Opportunities Across Value Chain
Dr. Rony Paul Thekkanath, Founder and CEO of PETRO Q and Vice President of IBPC Qatar, explained Qatar's energy ecosystem. He outlined developments across oil and gas, LNG, petrochemicals, utilities, and industrial sectors.
He highlighted opportunities available throughout the energy value chain. Companies involved in engineering, supply chains, technology, and industrial services could benefit from Qatar's ongoing investments.

The conference concluded with an interactive discussion involving participants from different sectors. Speakers and attendees discussed EPC opportunities, vendor qualification, supply chain development, localisation, industrial technology, and downstream industries.
