The number of passengers at Hamad International Airport (HIA) increased by 149.3 percent in June to reach 3,106,063 passengers, compared to 1,245,766 passengers in June 2021.
A statement issued by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) said Wednesday that the air transport statistics for June 2022 showed a gradual recovery of this sector after the coronavirus pandemic, as aircraft traffic at HIA increased during June 2022 by 39.3 percent compared to the same month last year.
The number of flights increased to 18,155 flights in June 2022, up from 13,31 flights in June 2021, while freight and mail traffic witnessed a decrease of 9.4 percent compared to the same month of 2021.
