Penalties range from fines of QR 100,000 and imprisonment for up to 3 years for violations involving approaches under 500 meters, to fines of QR 200,000 and imprisonment for the same term for unintentional sabotage. Deliberate acts of sabotage carry the most severe penalties, with imprisonment up to 20 years and fines of up to QR 500,000.
