GCC Slams Drone Strike on Jordan, Reaffirms Support for Amman’s Security

The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)

Riyadh - The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has strongly condemned the recent drone attack targeting Jordan, calling it a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and violates international norms.

In an official statement, the GCC chief affirmed the bloc’s “full solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,” stressing that any assault on Jordan’s security is considered an attack on the stability of the wider Arab region. He warned that such hostile actions undermine ongoing efforts to maintain peace and protect civilian infrastructure.

The Secretary General urged the international community to take a firm stance against those responsible for orchestrating or supporting the attack, emphasizing the need for coordinated regional and global action to prevent further destabilization.

He reiterated the GCC’s commitment to supporting Jordan in safeguarding its sovereignty and ensuring the safety of its citizens, noting that the Council will continue working closely with Amman to confront emerging security threats.

The condemnation comes amid heightened tensions across the Middle East, where drone and missile attacks have increasingly targeted strategic sites. Regional leaders have called for de escalation and renewed diplomatic engagement to prevent further violence.
