"Flowers of My Country" Exhibition opens at Katara

The exhibition showcasing "Flowers of My Country" debuts at Katara

The "Flowers of My Country" Exhibition was inaugurated on Monday by the Cultural Village Foundation- Katara at Katara, with the presence of numerous ambassadors, diplomatic mission representatives to the State of Qatar, environmental enthusiasts, fine art admirers, and media professionals.

Running until January 3, the exhibition, housed in building 18 of Katara, features the artworks of Dania Tariq, an artist with hearing impairment. Alongside her pieces, there are 29 artworks showcasing flowers native to Qatar's natural habitat.

Dr. Hala Al Saeed, speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), highlighted that Dania's focus on the native flowers reflects her inspiration drawn from Qatar's environment, aligning with Qatar's National Vision 2030 and the objectives of the International Horticultural Expo 2023 in Doha, Qatar.

The exhibition highlights the psychological aspect of artist Dania due to her hearing impairment, as noted by Al Saeed. She highlighted Dania's success in portraying flowers that capture the essence of the local environment, aiming to familiarize the public with these artworks and materialize her affection for flowers.

Al Saeed stressed that for her daughter, drawing flowers serves as the optimal method to convey emotions, with joy and happiness vividly displayed in her paintings, especially through the use of vibrant colors and various techniques.

She mentioned Dania's fusion of randomness and embodiment, as well as ambiguous and clear-cut features, stating that her paintings are marked by dynamism, fluidity, freedom, optimism, and a zest for life in their diverse colors.

Dania's artistic journey commenced at the age of 3 when her mother noticed her communication with the outside world through drawing, expressing needs, reactions, and emotions. Consequently, she nurtured her daughter's artistic talents.

Dania has taken part in numerous exhibitions both locally and internationally, hosting special exhibitions showcasing expressionist graphics, aiming to demonstrate to the world that determination transcends disability.
