FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ Security Last Mile Conference
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022â˘Â Security Last Mile Conference kicked off today. The entire globe will get the chance to share this event with us and work hand-in-hand with our teams to establish a safe tournament for everyone.
Helmut Spahn, FIFA Director Safety, said during his speech at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022� Security Last Mile Conference:
"I am sure that we will have a safe and secure event where true security, for all involved, is achieved, especially with all the planning Qatar has put together."
Maj. Gen. Eng. Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Ansari stated that under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, the Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Security Committee at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), and with the participation of local, regional and international stakeholders and partners, the Safety & Security Operations Committee (SSOC) of the Security Committee is organizing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022⢠Security Last-Mile Conference from 22-23 May 2022.
Major General Al-Ansari emphasized that in order to ensure the highest levels of security and stability for all spectators during the 2022 World Cup, the International Police Cooperation Center (IPCC) has been established in Doha. It is an operations room managed and supervised by the committee, and it has been provided with the latest advanced technological means and the necessary infrastructure for the center to perform its role and achieve its objectives. A group of young qualified officers with outstanding skills have also been deployed at the center.
Al-Ansari said:
âThe conference presents the security planning approach adopted by the Safety and Security Operations Committee, reviews the assessment of potential risks, and ensures best levels of preparedness to address such risks and scenarios.â
âOur officers have been to specialised training certified by the top  international law enforcement agencies from around the world, to ensure they are fully prepared for  every security scenario,â Al-Ansari added.
The signing of the joint declaration on the exchange of information between Qatar (the host country), FIFA Qatar 2022⢠World Cup countries, and other relevant international organizations was also held today at the opening of the conference.
