FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024 Organizing Committee Unveils Key Details

The local organizing committee for the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024 revealed the details of the Cup's last three matches set to be held in Doha on December 11, 14 and 18.

During a press conference on Tuesday, the committee's Executive Director of Commercial Affairs, Marketing, and Events Hassan Rabia Al Kuwari promised that the fans would experience a unique and special Cup with the participation of four clubs from different continents and fans would also reminisce about the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as well as the AFC Asian Cup 2023.

Al Kuwari said that two matches will be held in Stadium 974. Under the Derby of the Americas, the CONMEBOL champions (Brazil's Atletico Mineiro or Botafogo) will face Pachuca of Mexico on December 11.

Stadium 974 will host the second match under the Challenger Cup on December 14. It will see CAF Champions League winners Al Ahly of Egypt facing the winners of the Derby of the Americas.

The winner of the match will advance to the final and face UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid of Spain on December 18 at Lusail Stadium.

Al Kuwari said that each match holds its own importance as it will have its own title to claim and a cup to be awarded.

The final of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024 will coincide with the two-year anniversary of the 2022 World Cup final, and the day also marks Qatar's national day, he added.

The committee's Executive Director of Commercial Affairs, Marketing, and Events explained that the e-tickets for the three matches go on sale on Thursday for Visa cardholders and on November 21 for all fans via the FIFA official platform. Each person has the right to buy a maximum of 6 tickets.

Prices will start at QR 40 for the first and second matches, while tickets for the final match start at QR 200.

Al Kuwari advised not to buy the tickets through any other platforms.

The Hayya platform has no relation to the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024, but it can allow entry into Qatar, he explained.

He said that the Cup is set to garner a large number of fans in light of the presence of international clubs, which pushed the committee to make sure to organize the best version of the event. Visitors will also be able to enjoy different tourist destinations in Qatar as it will hold many events during the period.

The committee's Executive Director of Commercial Affairs, Marketing, and Events Hassan Rabia Al Kuwari assured that coordination has been made with all concerned parties including security and more to give the fans better an easy and exciting experience all in coordination with FIFA and participating clubs, promising that FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2024 is sure to meet the same level and quality of experience of previous tournaments held by Qatar.
