His Excellency Minister of Endowments opens the first endowment forum
HE Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanim inaugurated the first endowment forum under the theme of 'fixed fundamentals and renewed giving' at Imam Muhammad bin AbdulWahhab Mosque.
Organized by the General Directorate of Endowments, the event comes to brief the public on the endowment and its critical role in society through its mantra of endowment as a societal partnership with the participation of over 20 entities from the public and private sectors, as well as civil society associations which have societal partnerships with endowments through numerous and diverse services.
To mark this occasion, Director of the General Department of Endowments Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani said the advancement and prosperity of endowment in the community is the measure of the community's progress in multiple fields, affirming that today's milestones came by virtue of Allah, the Almighty, and the sincere efforts of benefactors. His Excellency thanked HE the Minister of Endowments and all those operating in this sector, alongside endowment partners in the community.
Endowment has achieved a multitude of milestones at the levels of investment and endowment revenues, rules and laws and regulate endowment, electronic services and systems, societal partnerships, and serving various community sectors, as well as research and endowment studies, His Excellency pointed out.
He asserted that the General Directorate of Endowments is a pioneering entity at the global level in the endowment field, adding that it aspires to converge with partners of success each year under one good tree with renewed giving and dedication, calling on the public to attend the exhibition accompanying this event to have a glimpse of the real endowment milestones.
Meanwhile, the ministry reviewed the most important achievements of the Endowment Bank accomplished in 2023, such as the Iftar projects that benefited 750,000 people, along with 500 families inside Qatar who benefited from the Adahi project. Moreover, 37,000 people have benefited from the refrigerated truck box in partnership with the Hifz Al Naema center, with the number of beneficiaries reaching roughly 5,000 families inside Qatar.
In addition, 30,010 students from both genders have been admitted to the Holy Qur'an teaching centers in partnership with the endowment bank for the service of the Quran and Sunna in 132 centers and 26 dorms for female students.
