Eid Al Fitr expected to be on 20 March 2026 as per Qatar Calendar House

Qatar Calendar House announced on 15 March 2026 that the first day of Shawwal 1447 is expected to be on 20 March 2026 as per astronomical calculations, making it the first day of Eid Al Fitr 2026. 

However, Qatar Calendar House stated, the decision is still under the decree's jurisdiction of the Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.

The new crescent moon will occur on Thursday, 19 March 2026 at 4:24 am Thus, it will not be possible to see the crescent moon in the evening (night) of Wednesday, 18 March 2026, in the skies of Qatar.
