Cairo: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with his UK counterpart Ed Miliband to discuss the latest developments concerning the Palestinian issue, including the situation in the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. 

Palestinian Situation Reviewed

During the call, the two ministers reviewed developments amid what Egypt described as continuing Israeli violations affecting Palestinians across the occupied Palestinian territories.

The discussions covered conditions in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as well as developments in the Gaza Strip. 

Settlement Activities and Settler Violence Discussed

The Egyptian and British foreign ministers also discussed Israeli settlement activity and the rise in violence and attacks by settlers against Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank. 

Both sides expressed concern over the potential consequences of these developments for Palestinians and for wider regional stability.

Call for Urgent International Action

According to Qatar News Agency, Abdelatty and Miliband condemned the practices discussed during their conversation and warned of their risks and repercussions.

They also stressed the need for the international community to act urgently and exert pressure aimed at bringing such actions to an end. 

Continued Diplomatic Focus on Palestinian Issue

The discussion reflects continuing international diplomatic engagement over developments in the Palestinian territories, as governments seek to address the humanitarian and political consequences of the ongoing conflict and tensions in the West Bank and Gaza.
