Qatar is pulling out all the stops to ensure Al Annabi feels the roar of home support on foreign soil. The Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) and the Qatar Football Association (QFA) signed a landmark funding agreement on Thursday to bankroll a full-scale Qatari fans delegation to the FIFA World Cup 2026, to be held across the United States and Canada.
The deal, announced in Doha, will see DAAM provide comprehensive financial backing for a delegation of approximately 1,000 people — among them passionate supporters, members of Qatar's official fans' association, media representatives, and families of players in the national squad. The program covers the entire travel experience, including flights with Qatar Airways — the official carrier — hotel accommodations, and local transportation across host cities.
QFA Secretary General Mansoor Mohammed Al Ansari welcomed the agreement warmly, calling DAAM's contribution a cornerstone of the association's operational planning. "We extend our sincere thanks to DAAM for this valuable cooperation and outstanding support in funding the travel arrangements for Qatari fans," he said, adding that the initiative would help deliver "an outstanding fan experience" for supporters at the world's biggest sporting event. Al Ansari expressed hope for a safe, successful journey and strong fan presence at every Al Annabi fixture.
DAAM's Director of Programs, Hassan Yousef Al Obaidly, framed the initiative as something far greater than a logistical exercise. "We are proud to support this initiative, which goes beyond being merely a supporters' trip," he said. "It represents a message of loyalty and encouragement for our national team at the world's biggest sporting event." Al Obaidly added that the fund's goal is to remove every barrier standing between Qatari fans and their team, while simultaneously helping to project Qatar's identity and culture on the global stage.
The agreement carries significance beyond football. It reflects a broader commitment by DAAM — a fund backed by companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange — to actively invest in sports and community initiatives, in direct alignment with the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030. The initiative demonstrates how Qatar continues to leverage its world-class sports infrastructure and institutional partnerships to build national pride and international visibility.
With the FIFA World Cup 2026 drawing closer, Qatar's fans will be ready — tickets booked, flights confirmed, and colours flying — as Al Annabi prepares to compete on the grandest stage of all.
