The Ministry of Commerce and Industry
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has announced the closure of a commercial company in Al-Montazah for a month, due to violating Article No. (6) of Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection, as the said company had wiped out the validity dates of expired products and printed new ones.
This measure comes as part of the intensive inspection campaigns carried out by the Ministry to regulate and monitor markets and commercial activities across Qatar, in a bid to control prices and uncover abuses and fraudulent, counterfeit, and non-conforming goods.
In this regard, the Ministry stressed that it would not tolerate any negligence in terms of meeting obligations stipulated in Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection, and its executive bylaws.Â
The Ministry assures that it intends to intensify its inspection campaigns to crack down on violations. Any party who violates laws and Ministerial decisions will be referred to the relevant authorities, who would respond appropriately against perpetrators.Â
The Ministry urges all citizens and residents to report any violations or infractions through the following official channels:
