The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.
The cabinet approved a draft decision by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs on regulating the granting of entry visas and residence permits to some groups of people in the State of Qatar.
Following the meeting, Minister of Municipality and Environment and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaei issued the following statement:
At the outset of the meeting, the cabinet was briefed by the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments in efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19. The Cabinet affirmed the continuation of work with the procedures and precautionary measures that have been taken in order to combat this pandemic.
Then, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:
First: the Cabinet reviewed the annual report of the work of the National Traffic Safety Committee for 2020, and the proposals and recommendations it included, and took the appropriate decision in their regard.
Established at the Ministry of Interior, this committee is concerned with designing policies and plans in the field of traffic and working on developing it, studying traffic problems and proposing solution methods, coordinating and cooperating with the various bodies who help maintain good flow of traffic, and proposing the development of traffic related legislation, road engineering and transportation, in line with international standards and the requirements of the continuous development of roads and transportation.
Second: Approval of a draft decision by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, on regulating the granting of entry visas and residence permits to certain groups of people in the State of Qatar.
This draft resolution comes in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 21 of 2015 on regulating the entry and exit of expatriates and their residence, to replace Decision No. 4 of 2012.
Third: Approval of a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the legal field between the Ministry of Justice in the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Justice in the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.
Fourth: the Cabinet reviewed the following topics and took the appropriate decisions in their regard:
1- A report on the activities of the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) for the period between April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2021.
2- The results of the 60th meeting of the GCC Trade Cooperation Committee.
3- The results of the second meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Standardization Affairs.
