Bahrain Interior Ministry said on Wednesday that a warning siren had been sounded across the nation. Authorities called on citizens and residents to remain calm and immediately go to shelter in the most secure places available.


US Military Intercepts Iranian Missiles and Drones


The US military also claimed to have intercepted a number of Iranian missiles and drones fired across the Gulf region, as well as responding in self-defence with attacks on Iran's Qeshm Island, using artificial intelligence technology, said AFP.

US Central Command (Centcom) said that all the missiles missed their targets.

Three of these Iranian attack drones were destroyed by US strikes

US Conducts Strikes on Qeshm Island

The US military said it had launched defensive strikes on Qeshm Island, situated in the key waterway of the Strait of Hormuz.


The strikes targeted:

Iranian military ground control station.
Targeted facilities allegedly linked to assaults in recent days.
Strategic Importance of Qeshm Island
Qeshm island's location in the Strait of Hormuz, best known as this world's largest oil and gas shipping gateway.
Tensions between the US, Israel and Iran have dramatically escalated since late February, severely disrupting traffic on the waterway.


No US Casualties Reported


Centcom confirmed that:

The operations caused zero US forces casualties.
Neutralised, the incoming threats.
The recent events highlight emerging security dangers for the Gulf region amidst rising tensions between Iran and both the United States and Israel.
