Aspetar is prepared for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

Aspetar, the Gulf region's first specialized Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, stated that it is prepared to host the world's finest athletes when the FIFA World Cup Qatar begins in November.

The event will feature 32 teams divided into eight groups.

"Our orthopaedic surgeons, cardiologists, sports medicine physicians, sports dentists, sports psychologists, physiotherapists, massage therapists, nurses, scientific researchers, radiologists, physical coaches, pharmacists, sports nutritionists, sports podiatrists, and biomedical engineers are ready and waiting to welcome elite athletes from all over the world," Aspetar stated in a video posted to its social media pages.

Aspetar was designated a "FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence" by F-MARC in 2009 and a "IOC Research Centre for Injury Prevention and Athlete Health" in 2014. It was designated as the "IHF Reference Centre for Athlete and Referee Health" a year later.

As a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence, Aspetar is the region’s first Sports Medicine Centre to earn the certification, and joins a renowned list of 49 medical facilities and clinics globally.

It also offers medical services to more than 100 national and international athletic events held in the country each year. And has medically tested over 18,000 athletes from all around the world.

Aspetar offers a broad range of services, from injury prevention to injury care and performance enhancement. Its mission is to give athletes with the clinical assistance, expertise, and resources they need to maximize their training and competitive potential. This is accomplished through specialized health education and support programs such as fitness assessment, nutrition, psychology, physiology, and physical training.

Movement Assessment Lab, Sports Surgery Training Centre, Hydrotherapy Pools, Altitude Dormitory, Climate Chamber, Warm up Track, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Fitness Area, Athletes Screening Unit, Digital Orthotic Laboratory, Virtual Reality, Operating Theatres and Post-Surgery Ward, Sports Dentistry Area, Medical Imaging, Laboratory, and Pharmacy are among the 16 facilities available at The Sports Medicine Hospital.
