Arab and Islamic Foreign Ministers Issue Joint Statement Condemning Israeli Violations in Gaza

Cairo: The foreign ministers of Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Türkiye, Indonesia, and Pakistan have issued a joint statement strongly condemning the ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip, describing attacks on healthcare facilities, civilian infrastructure and the continued loss of civilian lives as serious breaches of international law and international humanitarian law.

The ministers expressed deep concern over the continued targeting of civilians, including women and children, and stressed that the ongoing military actions are worsening the already catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza. They said the attacks undermine efforts aimed at implementing the ceasefire agreement and advancing a sustainable path toward peace.

In the joint statement, the ministers reaffirmed that Israel must fully comply with its obligations under international law and international humanitarian law. They stressed that the continuation of military operations against civilian infrastructure and essential services constitutes a clear violation of these obligations and threatens regional stability.

The ministers also voiced alarm over attacks on hospitals, medical personnel and humanitarian facilities, warning that such actions further restrict the delivery of life-saving assistance to civilians in Gaza. They called for the immediate protection of healthcare institutions and humanitarian workers in accordance with international legal standards.

The statement urged the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities by taking effective measures to halt the violations, ensure the protection of civilians and guarantee the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid throughout the Gaza Strip. It also called for accountability for violations of international law and emphasized the importance of respecting the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people.

The ministers reiterated their commitment to supporting all diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire and implementing all phases of the agreed roadmap. They welcomed ongoing mediation efforts and stressed that lasting peace can only be achieved through respect for international law and a comprehensive political solution based on the two-state framework, ensuring security and stability for all peoples in the region.

Concluding the statement, the foreign ministers reaffirmed their unified position in support of the Palestinian people and called for intensified international action to end the humanitarian crisis, protect civilians and create the conditions necessary for a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
