Apple Releases iOS 27.0.1 to Address Bugs Affecting iPhone Users

Washington, September 29, 2026 : Apple has released iOS 27.0.1, its first update to iOS 27, addressing a series of bugs affecting iPhone users, including an issue that could cause the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max to unexpectedly restart following a failed Face ID authentication attempt.

Released about two weeks after iOS 27, the update also fixes a camera issue that could produce a color artifact in photos taken at 2x zoom under certain lighting conditions at f/1.48 on a small number of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max devices.

Apple also addressed an iOS 27 issue that could cause the touchscreen to become unresponsive when Notification Center and Control Center were opened simultaneously.

The update is available for all iPhone models supported by iOS 27, while the Face ID and camera fixes specifically target the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Apple's release information lists iOS 27.0.1 as available for iPhone 11 and later.

Alongside iOS 27.0.1, Apple released iPadOS 27.0.1 for compatible iPad models, with the update focused on bug fixes and system improvements. Apple lists both updates as released on September 28.
