Al Shaqab to Host Fourth International Arabian Horse Show in November

Doha, September 20, 2026 : Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), will host the fourth edition of the Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show from November 4 to 7, bringing together an elite selection of purebred Arabian horses.

Supported by the Social & Sport Contribution Fund (Daam), the four-day event will be held at Al Shaqab’s outdoor arena under the patronage of HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee and Chairman of Al Shaqab, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani.

Al Shaqab has opened registration for owners and studs seeking to compete across the various championship categories. Registration will remain open until October 1.

The show is classified as a “B” level competition and will be held under the supervision of the European Conference of Arab Horse Organizations (ECAHO). The classification provides participating horses with an opportunity to qualify for higher-level international and global championships.

The fourth edition follows the success of last year’s competition, which attracted owners, breeders, and studs from several countries and featured strong competition and high organizational standards.

Championship Director and Head of the Breeding and Show Department at Al Shaqab Khalid Al Jehani said the event reflects Al Shaqab’s commitment to preserving the heritage of purebred Arabian horses and promoting their international standing.

He noted that the growing participation of international owners and breeders demonstrates the reputation the championship has established since its launch.

Al Jehani added that the Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show has become an important fixture on the Arabian horse show calendar, distinguished by its organization and competitive field. He expressed confidence that the upcoming edition would build on previous achievements and further enhance the championship’s international profile.

The event provides a platform for Arabian horse owners, breeders, and enthusiasts from around the world to meet and compete, while showcasing the heritage of the purebred Arabian horse and its cultural significance in Qatar and the wider Arab world.

Hosting the championship forms part of Al Shaqab’s efforts to preserve purebred Arabian bloodlines and highlight the breed’s beauty and heritage. It also contributes to strengthening Qatar’s position on the global equestrian map and its role as a destination for Arabian horse owners, breeders, and enthusiasts.
