Doha, September 19, 2026 : Al Markhiya Gallery at The Fire Station will open its "Print Friends" exhibition on Tuesday, featuring 14 artists and designers from across the Arab world whose works draw inspiration from Arab Nation Street, a painting by Qatari artist Yousef Ahmad.

Artists Revisit Arab Cultural History Through Shared Lens

Taking Arab Nation Street as their shared point of departure, the participating artists revisit the intellectual, social, and cultural atmosphere of the Arab world during the 1950s and 1960s through their own perspectives. The resulting works interpret, question, abstract, or extend the painting's themes and visual language, connecting historical memory, contemporary Arab visual culture, and the material and tactile language of printmaking.

Fourteen Artists and Studios Take Part

The participating artists and design studios are Ibrahim Al Thawadi, Ananas Studio, Mobius Design Studio, Omaima Dajani, Hussein Al Azaat, Khawla Al Shaibani, Zaid Espaitan, Fatima Emad, Kinda Ghnom, Mohamed Sharaf, Maryam Al Homaid, Nasser Nasrallah, Naima Ben Ayad, and Nayla Al Sada.

Limited-Edition Screen Prints Form Collective Archive

Each participant will present an artistic response as a limited-edition work produced through screen-printing, measuring 50 by 70 centimeters. Together, the 14 works form a collective artistic archive that revisits an important period in Arab visual memory from a contemporary perspective.
