Al Jazeera journalist killed
Al Jazeera 8 April 2026 reports that Mohammed Wishah, its correspondent in Gaza for Al Jazeera Mubasher, was killed when the building he was in with his colleagues was bombed by Israeli drone in the Gaza Strip.
He was reported killed as the attack struck the car he was traveling in on al-Rashid Street, the coastal road that runs west of Gaza City. Al Jazeera-quoted sources had said the airstrike set the car ablaze.
Israel has targeted journalists in the Gaza Strip since launching its devastating conflict with Palestinians based there in October 2023, Al Jazeera said.
It also cited the Gaza Government Media Office reporting at least 262 journalists having been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza.
