The festivities accompanying the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 commenced on Friday evening at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), featuring a vibrant array of cultural, artistic, and recreational activities.

Katara was adorned with the flags of participating countries, along with football and artistic displays.

Various activities are scheduled at Katara, including the performance of Qatari Ardha in Al-Hikma Square, with traditional showcases on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays throughout the tournament. Street arts festivals entertained visitors with diverse characters, music, and costumes. A military choir presented a captivating artistic display, and giant screens were set up in the fan zone for football enthusiasts to watch matches. The opening ceremony and the tournament's first match were enjoyed by Katara attendees.

The audience at Katara was treated to a musical performance by an Indonesian band and a traditional Chinese attire show. The "Katara" and 'Cut Art' market, offering antiques, souvenirs, and handicrafts, reported substantial activity.

Katara Publishing House showcased its books, organized educational workshops, and held competitions for children.

Numerous artistic and cultural competitions are scheduled, including the Best Picture Competition and the Fine Art Competition focusing on the Customs and Traditions of the Peoples of Asia, with valuable prizes for the winners. Art galleries, featuring exhibitions such as 'Turab' by Qatari artist Lulwah Al Mansouri and 'Asian Stars' by photographer Haitham bin Salim Al Shukairi, are open to visitors.
