Look, when your friend's birthday rolls around and someone suggests LPM, you don't ask questions. You just show up, dress well, and mentally prepare to eat more than you planned.

That's exactly what happened a few weeks ago. Three of us, one birthday, and a table outside at La Petite Maison Doha. Now before you ask, yes, outside. In Doha. In summer. But here's the thing, LPM's outdoor setup is basically cheating because the aircons are so well placed you genuinely forget it's 40 degrees outside. We were comfortable the entire night, which felt almost suspicious.
The Starters (Plural, Because We Committed)
We didn't ease into it. Four starters between three people, Burrata, Salade de Lentilles, Escargots, and the Crevettes Tièdes à l'Huile d'Olive (warm prawns with olive oil). The burrata was creamy and perfect, the lentil salad surprisingly punchy, the escargots doing what escargots do best, and the prawns? Simple, elegant, and dangerously easy to finish before the mains arrive.

The Mains (Where Things Got Serious)
The Entrecôte Grillée, the ribeye, deserves its own paragraph. Actually it deserves its own article. It was that good. Cooked exactly right, with that char that makes you question every steak decision you've ever made elsewhere in Doha.
The lamb cutlets held their own as always, and the Arrabbiata, rigatoni pasta with tomato and chilli, was the kind of dish that sounds simple on paper but lands with way more personality than you expect. Bold, a little fiery, and somehow the perfect contrast to everything else on the table.

Desserts (We Had Three. No Regrets.)
Cheesecake (still the best in Doha, I'm standing by that), Chocolate Mousse, and the one that genuinely caught us off guard, the Vanilla Crème Brûlée. That crack of the caramelized top, the cold cream underneath, it's one of those desserts where the table goes quiet for a second. You know the kind.

The Verdict
Celebrating a birthday at LPM just makes sense. The food is consistently brilliant, the outdoor terrace somehow defies the laws of Qatari summer, and by the end of the night you've completely forgotten what you originally came to celebrate because the ribeye took over. The birthday friend was happy. We were happy. The crème brûlée was the real guest of honor.
If your friends deserve a good table, and honestly, even if they're just okay, LPM is the move.
