World Judo Championships 2023 Kicks off In Qatar
The World Judo Championships 2023 kicked off today, 7th May 2023 at the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena. It is organised by the International Judo Federation, with more than 500 of the world's best Judoka athletes from more than 90 countries competing for the title.
The intense competition will go on for eight days till the 14th of May with 15 world titles at stake, including 7 individual categories for men and women, and will end with a mixed team event with the champion being awarded 1,000,000 Euros.
The athletes are more determined than ever as Doha 2023 gives them a qualification for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
The World Judo Championship medals are made using the sand from the historical Zekreet region, in a design that links Qatar’s rich past with its unique present.
