Qatar Defeats Uzbekistan 3-2
The Qatari national team defeated Uzbekistan 3-2 in a match held today at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in the fifth round of Group A in the third stage of the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Qatar's goals were scored by Almoez Ali, who netted twice in the 25th and 41st minutes, and Lucas Mendes, who scored in the 12th minute of added time (90+12). Uzbekistan's goals were scored by Abbosbek Fayzullaev in the 75th and 80th minutes.
This victory marked Qatar's second win in the third round, correcting their course after a 1-4 loss to Iran in the previous round, bringing their total to 7 points and placing them in fourth position. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan remained in second place with 10 points, trailing behind group leaders Iran, who have 13 points.
