DOHA, August 13, 2026 â Women leaders are playing a growing role in QNB Groupâs transformation as the bank strengthens its international capabilities and responds to rapid change across the global financial sector.
Their work extends across risk management, corporate and institutional banking, digital services and treasuryâfunctions central to QNBâs focus on innovation, sustainability, customer experience and long-term financial resilience.
QNB said women currently account for 49% of its workforce and hold 34% of positions across senior leadership and middle management. The bank says these levels are above international financial-industry averages and reflect continued investment in talent development and leadership progression.
Among the executives contributing to this agenda are Dr Fatma Abdulla Al Suwaidi, Group Chief Risk Officer; Constance Au, Senior Vice President for Corporate and Institutional Banking at QNB Singapore; Dahlia Swellem, Director for Digibank at QNB Egypt; and Fatma Ben Hafsa, Head of Treasury at QNB Tunisia.
Risk management as a driver of opportunity
Al Suwaidi has spent nearly 25 years working across critical risk functions at the Group. Her approach places competence, performance and measurable impact at the centre of leadership, while treating risk management as part of business decision-making rather than a separate control function.
That perspective enables risk teams to support expansion while identifying opportunities in areas such as green finance and climate-related products. Emerging forcesâincluding artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, climate risk and environmental, social and governance requirementsâare expected to reshape both the risks banks face and the solutions they can offer.
Building trust in competitive Asian markets
In Singapore, Au focuses on strengthening QNBâs position in corporate and institutional banking and developing relationships with multinational companies and other major organisations across Asia.
Her strategy emphasises credibility, consistency and transparency over short-term transactions. In a highly competitive market, QNBâs ability to honour commitments, communicate clearly and maintain long-term relationships is positioned as a foundation for sustainable growth and customer trust.
The role also demands resilience and agility as customer expectations, market conditions and regional opportunities continue to evolve.
Digital banking built around the customer
In Egypt, Swellem oversees QNB Bebasata, the Groupâs digital banking platform, and is co-leading the development of ez Bank. The initiative is designed to build accessible, customer-centred digital banking ecosystems and represents one of QNBâs major transformation programmes in the market.
With almost two decades of experience across retail, commercial banking and marketing, Swellemâs focus is on combining technology with simplicity, trust and personalised customer journeys. As mobile applications become the primary point of contact for digital-bank customers, the quality and ease of that experience become central to the institutionâs identity.
Delivering that transformation requires coordination with regulators, technology partners, consultants and cross-functional teams, as well as a willingness to reassess services continually as technology and customer behaviour change.
Treasury strengthens financial resilience
At QNB Tunisia, Ben Hafsa leads treasury activities covering liquidity, funding optimisation, foreign exchange and correspondent-banking relationships. Her role supports financial stability while balancing profitability, risk management and the bankâs wider strategic objectives.
As markets become more interconnected and volatile, treasury operations are expected to rely increasingly on digitalisation, stronger forecasting and deeper international collaboration. These capabilities can help optimise balance-sheet management, diversify funding and strengthen competitiveness.
Together, the four leaders illustrate how specialised expertise across QNBâs international network is contributing to a more innovative, resilient and future-ready banking group.
