Doha, October 03, 2026 : The Family Consulting Center (Wifaq), part of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, is hosting an art-based awareness exhibition titled "Rawabit (Bonds): Visual Stories Strengthening Family Ties."
Exhibition Blends Art with Family Awareness
Running through Sunday, the exhibition blends art with family-focused awareness to convey the concept of family cohesion through a visual language that resonates with the public, highlighting values and everyday practices that help build stronger, more stable family relationships.
Part of Wifaq's Creative Outreach Strategy
Wifaq said the exhibition aligns with its vision of using creative and innovative tools to raise family awareness, harnessing art's ability to evoke emotion, stimulate thought, and open avenues for dialogue, bringing family issues closer to people's everyday lives.
Artworks Explore Dialogue, Emotional Support, Belonging
The Center said the exhibition features a collection of artworks offering diverse perspectives on family life and cohesion, exploring themes including dialogue, active listening, emotional support, mutual respect, parent-child relationships, security and belonging, and the importance of spending time together. Through these works, the exhibition underscores that family cohesion is not forged in a single moment, but built through positive choices repeated in daily life.
Works Address Parental Roles, Marital Communication
The Center noted that participating artworks explore various facets of family bonding — some showing how parental presence and emotional support instill confidence and security in children, while others address the complementary roles of fathers and mothers, the importance of love and dialogue between spouses, and the role of communication in creating a stable family environment. Additional works portray the family as a source of security and belonging, emphasizing shared moments and values in strengthening cohesion.
Special Focus on Young People, Premarital Preparation
The Center added that the exhibition pays particular attention to young people and those preparing for marriage, introducing awareness and preparatory programmes tailored to this group and emphasizing the importance of premarital preparation in equipping young people with the knowledge and skills needed for married life. The exhibition also offers interactive experiences encouraging visitors to reflect on the bonds within their own families.
Exhibition Reflects Center's Innovative Outreach Approach
The exhibition reflects Wifaq's commitment to diversifying its community outreach and presenting family-oriented messages through innovative approaches that go beyond traditional formats, using art as a space for reflection and dialogue.
Opportunity to Showcase Counseling Services
The exhibition also gives Wifaq an opportunity to engage directly with the public, showcase its role, and introduce its family and counseling services — promoting a culture of early engagement with specialized programmes rather than the view that family counseling is sought only when problems arise.
