27th Asian Men's Club League Handball Championship

The 27th Asian Men's Club League Handball Championship, qualifying for the 2025 IHF Men's Super Globe, hosted by Al Rayyan SC, concluded Saturday with great success.

President of the Qatar Handball Association, Ahmed Al Shaabi, praised the success of the championship, stating that Al Rayyan organized a distinguished edition reflecting Qatar's significant capabilities in hosting regional, continental, and global sports tournaments in the best possible manner.

He extended his thanks to HE Sheikh Al Qaqa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, President of Al Rayyan SC and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, for his continuous support which directly contributed to the impressive organizational success.

Al Shaabi also commended the technical level of the championship and congratulated the top winners. The Sharjah team from the UAE won the championship trophy and the gold medal, while Saudi Arabia's Al Khaleej team secured second place and the silver medal, and Qatar's Al Duhail team took third place and the bronze medal.

Bader Al Theyab, representative of the Asian Handball Federation and Vice President of the International Handball Federation for Asia, stated that the Asian Club Championship excelled in Qatar.

He congratulated Qatar and Al Rayyan SC for this excellent organization of the championship, which succeeded in terms of organization, technical quality, and audience engagement. He considered this edition one of the best in the tournament's history.

Faisal Al Otaibi, the championship's executive director, affirmed that Al Rayyan SC was keen to present a successful edition on all levels, with meticulous follow-up from the club's management on all details to ensure the championship was outstanding.

He also praised the large audience turnout, considering it one of the factors that enhanced the success of the 27th Asian Men's Club League Handball Championship, noting that the record audience numbers made the tournament one of the best in its history.

Mohammed Jaber Al Mulla, Secretary-General of the Qatar Handball Association and member of the organizing committee, noted that the praise from participating delegations and officials from the international and Asian federations for the organizational level confirms the great success achieved. He pointed out that the organizing committee made continuous efforts to present the championship in this honorable manner.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman Al-Thani, Chairman of the Media Committee, stated that the championship received unprecedented media coverage.

He added that more than 150 journalists from local and international media covered the competitions, and the organizing committee provided them with all the necessary support to complete their work effectively, confirming that the championship has never seen such extensive media attention before.

Notably, this is the fifth time Qatar has hosted the Asian Men's Club League Handball Championship, following the years 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2016.
