UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), has announced that it will organize an event on December 18 at its headquarters in Paris to explore Arabic's future in AI.

In a report published on its official website about World Arabic Language Day, which is observed annually on Dec. 18, UNESCO said that this event gathers top scholars, industry experts, and cultural leaders to explore how AI can bridge this digital gap, enhancing Arabic representation online and fostering both innovation and heritage preservation.

It added that this year's event starts with opening remarks from distinguished speakers and leads into sessions on Arabic AI innovation, cultural and linguistic preservation, and digital empowerment.

"Arabic, spoken by over 450 million people and holding official status in nearly 25 countries, is a global language with immense cultural significance. Yet, only 3% of online content is available in Arabic, restricting access for millions." UNESCO said.

UNESCO's World Arabic Language Day creates a vibrant platform for dialogue, exchange, and mutual understanding, celebrating the Arabic language's global significance. Through this event, UNESCO aims to unite diverse voices and foster cultural connections.
