U.S. Launches ‘Project Freedom’ to Safeguard Strait of Hormuz Navigation
The United States has unveiled a major military initiative, âProject Freedom,â directed by President Donald Trump, aimed at ensuring freedom of navigation through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the mission will provide support to merchant vessels seeking safe passage through the waterway, deploying a formidable force of approximately 15,000 service members.
The operation will include guidedâmissile destroyers, more than 100 land and seaâbased aircraft, and advanced multiâdomain unmanned platforms, underscoring Washingtonâs determination to secure maritime routes amid escalating regional tensions.
Officials emphasized that the mission reflects the U.S. commitment to protecting international trade and maintaining stability in one of the worldâs most vital shipping corridors.
