Qatar Toy Festival 2026 is back this summer, bigger and pretty packed with imagination! Families can jump into a full day of play, creativity, and entertainment across themed zones that bring beloved worlds back to life.

On July 23rd, the focus shifts toward Traditional Loom Bracelet Making , where visitors get a practical way to learn this time-honoured craft and also make their own woven souvenir.

8. Workshop | Recording/Constructing: The Photograph & the Real with Hamad Alfayhani

Take a closer look at the images we take for granted. In this, hands on workshop at the Fire Station, participants will explore photographs - found and staged, documentary and constructed - and try to understand how framing, sequence, and even one small caption can shift how “true” an image feels.

The whole thing is led by Qatari filmmaker and visual artist Hamad Jassim Alfayhani , who is currently part of the Fire Station’s Artist Intensive Study Programme. The session digs into that blurred line between the staged and the real, and also how constant picture making keeps re-drawing it , over and over.

9. Tunisian Postal Service - History and Stamps Exhibition

History buffs and stamp collectors, this one is calling your name! Katara is hosting a gripping exhibition about the History of the Tunisian Postal Service and its Stamps.

The whole showcase gathers a distinctive mix of stamps and postal memorabilia, and it kinda follows Tunisia’s postal path across the decades, step by step. Curated by the collector Youssef Ftouhi, the exhibition also includes some rare collectables from Mongi Safra & Samira Cheniti, giving you a rare look into a slice of history that’s often left in the background but still full of personality and solid craftsmanship.

10. Ruq’ah Calligraphy Intermediate Workshop

Join this inspiring workshop to learn Ruq’ah calligraphy, the last style developed by the Ottomans, and it’s known for its clarity and simplicity. It rose to prominence in the 19th century, and over time, Ruq’ah was used everywhere, in book titles, newspapers, and daily note‑taking, in a way that feels elegant yet practical.

In the session, participants will dig into the background of this script, practice those distinctive strokes, and also understand how Ruq’ah shaped everyday communication within Ottoman culture. Whether you’re completely new to it or you’re more of an enthusiast, you’ll still get the chance to connect with tradition, while building your own artistic strengths, step by step.

It’s a creative journey into one of the most influential scripts in the Islamic world, mixing heritage, artistry, and hands‑on learning, it feels lived in, not just observed.
