The Minister of Culture Inaugurates "Mahalat" Exhibition

HE the Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani inaugurated tonight an art gallery for Youssef Ahmed entitled "Mahalat." The gallery is located at Mohammed Bin Jassim House at Msheireb Museums.

Head of Qatar Art Center HE Sheikh Hassan bin Mohammed bin Ali Al-Thani, CEO of Msheireb Properties Nasser Matar Al Kawari, and a host of artists and intellectuals.

Ahmed said that the exhibition carries paintings that showcase an important part of Qatar's past, present, and future. It focuses on Kahrabaa Street, which was an important commercial destination in the past. He added that the exhibition will take visitors in a trip down memory lane for Qatar's history in general, and Msheireb's in particular.

For his part, Director of Msheireb Museums Dr. Hafez Ali told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that Msheireb Museums is committed to artists, and as a result wanted to showcase Ahmed's work which documents Msheireb's past.
