The 60th School Holy Quran Contest kicks off today

The 60th School Holy Quran Contest is announced by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has declared the commencement of the 60th School Holy Quran Contest today (November 12, 2023), featuring participation from over 22,000 contestants. The competition, spanning until November 23, promises valuable prizes for the winners. A total of 22,000 students, representing 532 government and private schools across all grades and kindergartens, have enthusiastically registered for this annual Holy Quran competition.

The competition tests will take place from 7:30 am to 11 am. Four mosques, each equipped with 46 committees for conducting the tests, have been assigned for male students. These locations include Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque in Doha, Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib Mosque in Al Wakrah, Othman bin Affan Mosque in Al Khor, Al Mana Mosque in Al Waab, along with Al Maha Academy.

The Ministry has assigned nine Quran learning centers, each facilitated by 53 committees, to conduct the contest tests for female students. Nine Quran learning centers, including Hessa Bint Mohammed Al Muslim Center in Hazm Al Markhiya, Khawla Bint Al Azwar Center in Al Khor, Rawdat Bint Mohammed Center in Muaither, Abdul Rahman Dawish Fakhro Center in Al Wakrah, Alia Bint Khalfan Al Suwaidi Center in Rawdat Al Hamama, Kamila Bint Issa Al Kuwari Center in Al Kharaitiyat, Mohammed bin Hassan Al Sulaiti Centre in Al Maamoura, Hind Bint Umayyah Al Makhzoumia Center in Manasir, along with Al Arqam Academy, have been designated by the Ministry for conducting tests in the contest for female students.

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has provided financial rewards for all successful students in the competition.
Organized by the Department of Religious Call and Guidance at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the 60th School Holy Quran Contest aims to instill the Book of God in the hearts of generations and emphasize the importance of the Arabic language as the language of the Holy Quran. The competition also seeks to foster students' enthusiasm to excel in the noble field of knowledge represented by the Book of God Almighty.

The contest's overarching goal is to cultivate generations embodying the morals of the noble Quran, following the example of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, whose character was synonymous with the Quran. It aims to nurture a love for the Book of God, ensuring the Quran is alive in their hearts, leading to reflection and adherence to its guidance and rulings.
