4th Recycling Towards Sustainability Conference and Exhibition Launches
The 4th edition of the "Recycling Towards Sustainability Conference and Exhibition" 2024 commenced at Expo 2023 Doha, Cultural Zone, with the aim of enhancing the recycling sector for circular economy and sustainability.
Operating under the theme "Sustainability is our legacy for future generations," the two-day event is organized by the Ministry of Municipality. Minister of Municipality H E Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah highlighted Qatar's notable achievements in waste management and recycling, citing the zero-waste success during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 events. Attended by key dignitaries, the conference aims to promote a circular economy for recycled materials, sustainable practices, and effective natural resource utilization, aligning with the Ministry's strategic plan and the Third National Development Strategy.
The event features participation from governmental and semi-governmental institutions, the private sector, local and international entities, showcasing expertise in sustainability, waste management, and treatment.
The conference addresses the latest waste management methods, emphasizes cooperation between individuals, communities, and governments, and explores successful experiences in establishing waste management laws and circular economy initiatives.
The accompanying exhibition includes 39 pavilions, featuring ministries, government institutions, private sector companies, factories, and sustainability initiatives, with the Ministry of Municipality showcasing its achievements in waste management and sustainability.
The first day included discussion sessions on sustainability at Expo 2023 Doha, successful waste management laws, public hygiene services partnerships, circular economy in recycling industries, and waste management during crises.
